I just got a Pantech UML295 USB modem (Verizon 4G). Works with my 2010 15' Macbook Pro, but is not recognized by the newer 15' Macbook Pro Retina with USB 3 ports - doesnt even show up in System Information. I can get it to work by attaching it through a USB 2.0 hub and then to a USB 3 port. I have an email into Pantech but haven't heard back from them, hoping for a firmware update to fix this. Anyone know of some other solution? The hub sort of defeats the purpose.
